Karissa + Jeff // Santa Fe New Mexico wedding photographer [ airbnb elopement ]
In the mountains of the Santa Fe National Forest, Karissa & Jeff hosted their family for one beautiful elopement. Karissa often found herself in New Mexico for work and new she had to share this magical place with Jeff and their families. The date was set and 18 people set off to The Land — a gorgeous compound of airbnb homes in Canones, New Mexico for their nuptials.
Friday night, the family cooked out, told stories, and exchanged gifts. The sunset was unbelievable and we all prayed the sunset would show off again on Saturday.
The morning of their elopement was calm — the sun hid behind the clouds for most of the day. After Karissa and Jeff were both ready — they read their vows to each other back to back. Forever my favorite way of doing a first look. When the emotions were at their highest — they turned around to see each other on their wedding day.
We traveled around the neighborhood taking photos along the Santa Fe National Forest landscape. Their love and happiness radiated through the mountainscape. The sun broke through the clouds right before Karissa’s dad walked her down the aisle. Karissa’s dad officiated their wedding ceremony and there wasn’t a dry eye on that mountaintop.
Sunset was spent eating mexican cuisine before dancing the evening away. What a special wedding weekend in Canones, New Mexico!
